Submissions

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Ophthalmologica Indonesiana is a scientific journal published by Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association (PERDAMI). It contained a scientific development in ophthalmology field, such as diagnostic, therapeutic, operation technique and scientific research. Ophthalmology Indonesiana published twice a year, on February and August, available access form electronic (website).

General Instructions

The manuscript must use well written and grammatically correct English. Make sure that the manuscript is written in American English with the Standard English Grammar used. The use of poor English can result in manuscript rejection. When needed, Author can use the help of English writing tools, a professional translator or editor. Please do spell-check and grammar-check on your manuscript carefully.

Manuscripts must be typed with single space on paper 210 x 297 mm (paper A4) with maximum number of pages is 15.

Send the manuscript that never been published previously, Ophthalmologica Indonesiana doesn’t accept the manuscript which is also sent to another journal to be published to avoid the plagiarism. The author should ensure all the author‘s team, they already read and had agree with fill the copyright transfer

All the manuscript which are sent to Ophthalmologica Indonesiana will be reviewed by experts in disciplines related (peer-review) and editorial team. Manuscript that require improvement in format or content will be returned to the author for revision.

Manuscript Written

Manuscript including tables and bibliography must be typed in times new roman, spaced 1.5 on A4 paper with a margin of 2.5 cm. The maximum number is 15 pages.

Manuscript which are recommended to be submitted via the perdami.id/ophthalmologica website by signing up first (if you have never submitted an article before) or you can send by email ophthalmologica.indonesiana@perdami.or.id if you have difficulty submitting via the website.

Title Page

The title should be clear and informative, not more than 20 words. For the Author name below the title; each author's name should be written in order of contribution to the manuscript, accompanied by affiliated agencies, email and correspondence phone numbers.

Abstract and Keyword

Abstracts for research articles, literature reviews and case reports are made in English with a maximum number of 250 words. The research article must contain the research objectives, methods, results and conclusions. Abstracts are made concise and clear, allowing readers to understand important aspects without having to read the entire paper. Abstract must be typed in Times New Roman 10.

Manuscript Tamplate

The template of the manuscript is arranged according to the appropriate subsection, namely Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. Include the measurement in International System (SI) units / units. Do not start a sentence with a numeric, for sentences that start with a number, write it down with letters. Text must be typed in Times New Roman 12, single column, 1,5 spaced. Margins on all four sides are 2.5 cm.

Table

Each tables must have a brief title, numbered, and mention clearly in main text. The table number is sequential according to the mention in the text. The column in tables not using vertical line. It must be self-explanatory and not duplicated in the text or figures.

Illustration/Figures

Figures should have a brief title, numbered and mention clearly in main text.

Black and white images should be saved and supplied as GIF, TIFF, EPS or JPEG files, at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and an image size of 9 cm across for single column format and 18.5 cm for double column format.

Colour images should be saved and supplied as GIF, TIFF, EPS or JPEG files, to a minimum resolution of 600 dpi at an image size of 9 cm across for single column format and 18.5 cm for double column format.

We also receive images/figures in Photoshop (.psd) and/or CorelDRAW (.cdr) files.

Images should be mentioned in the text and figure legends should be listed at the end of the manuscript.

Cite illustrations in numerical order (figure 1, figure 2 etc) as they are first mentioned in the text.

If the figures is a photograph of an identifiable person, or is an illustration that has been published, written permission must be attached.

Statistical Method

Describe the statistical method in detail in the section on "methods" / unusual methods written in the following references to the method.

Ethical Approval of Studies and Informed Consent

For all manuscripts reporting data from studies involving human participants or animals, a formal review and approval, or formal review and waiver by an appropriate institutional review board or ethics committee is required, and should be described in the Subjects and Methods section

Reference

References are written according to the rules of the Vancouver authors, numbered according to their appearance in the entire text, not alphabetically. Assign all the names of the authors if it’s below 6 people. But, if it above 6 authors, the first author were followed by et al. Use the appropriate example according to the 5th edition of the Uniform requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journal Editors, 1997. Abbreviate journal names according to the Index Medicus.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of references cited: these should be checked against the original documents before the paper is submitted. It is vital that the references are styled correctly so that they may be hyperlinked. All references must be consist of minimal 10 years recently and in the form of essay.

Please use the references software to cite articles for your manuscript references, such as: EndNote, Mendeley, etc.

Avoid using abstracts as references. For material that has been sent for publication but has not yet been published, it should be referred to by mentioning unpublished observations other than the source. Papers accepted for publication but not yet published can be used as a reference by the words "in press". Example: Leshner al. Molecular mechanisms of cocaine addiction. N eng J Med. In press 1996.
